Day 1

Depart school
this afternoon and travel overnight to Dubbo.Whilst
enroute we will be stopping for dinner and
comfort breaks.

Day 2

This morning we have breakfast in Dubbo before
visiting the Western
Plains Zoo. Our guide will take
us for a ‘Behind the Scenes’ Tour
where someone may be picked to help feed the
giraffe. We’ll continue the journey stopping
at Forbes
for lunch and then onto our accommodation in
Canberra.
On arrival we settle into our rooms, where we’ll
stay for 3 nights and prepare for dinner. |

Day 3

|
Today we visit Screen
Sound Australia, which houses
the National Sound & Film Archives. Then
we’ll attend The National
Capital Exhibition to see
how Canberra has developed into the city it
is today and why. From here we can view the
Captain Cook
Memorial Water Jet as we enjoy
lunch on the banks of Lake
Burley Griffin.After lunch
we drive to The
National Gallery of Australia
for a guided tour of Australia’s finest
works of art. On the way back to our accommodation
we’ll wind our way up to Mt
Ainslie taking in the view
of Canberra
and the Parliamentary
Triangle (good opportunity
for group photos)Arriving at White Ibis, it’s
time for a shower before dinner,to hasten
our departure for a date with the dinosaurs
at the National
Dinosaur Museum.

Day 4

|
Our day starts with a tour of Parliament
House and we takea visit to
the Parliamentary
Education Office to find out
howparliament works. We leave here and enjoy
lunch beforedriving to Australian
War Memorial where we begin
to understand and appreciate the importance
of our Anzacs.We’ll also view the light
and sound show ‘G
For George’ before finalizing
our visit with a few minutes reflection at
the tomb of the Unknown
Soldier.Our next destination
is the Australian
Institute of Sport for a guided
tour with one of Australia’s elite athletes.
To top off anexciting day we’ll burn
off some excess energy in Sportex.
After dinner tonight, it’s time for
a treat…Ice Skating.

Day 5

|
After packing our luggage and having breakfast
we spend our last day in Canberra
with a tour around the International
Embassies, past the Lodge
to the fun filled National
Science Centre – Questacon.
Here we’ll experience the wonders of science
with hands-on interactive displays.Our last
venue is Cockington
Green gardens with numerous
multicultural and international displays in
the form of miniatureVillages. You’ll
be amazed at the attention to detail.It’s
now time to say “Goodbye” to our
National Capital as webegin our journey home
via Forbes
for dinner and comfort stops along the way. |
Day 6 |
|
Breakfast enroute as we continue our return
trip home.Arriving at school and unpacking the
luggage at approximatelylunch time, we all go
home for a well earned rest with fondmemories
of our adventure with Topline
Coach Tours to our National
Capital.
