Day 1
(D)
|
|
Departing school early and travelling in luxury
air-conditioned comfort to Moore,
where we’ll have morning tea. We
then continue along the Warrego Highway reaching
Dalby in time for lunch in the park. After
lunch we travel west to Roma,
where we set up camp for the night at the
Sport and Recreation Stadium.

Day 2

|
Departing Roma after breakfast we follow the
Carnarvon Developmental Road, to Injune
and stop for morning tea. We’ll arrive
at Takarakka Bush
camping ground in Carnarvon
National Park in time to unpack
the coach, set up our tents and have lunch.This
afternoon we’ll drive to the Rangers
Station to be informed by the Ranger
about this beautiful National Park and then
take a walk to Boolimba
Bluff to witness the magnificent
view of the gorge from the lookout. We return
to camp with time to get ready for dinner. |

Day 3
(B, L & D)

|
After breakfast we board our coach and travel
to the Park Entrance where we start an exciting
day of hiking up the main gorge, criss-crossing
fresh water streams and marvelling at the tall
sandstone cliffs. We’ll explore the Amphitheatre
(renowned for unique acoustics), the Art
Gallery (Aboriginal rock art
site), Wards Canyon
(home of the king fern), and the Moss
Gardens (trickling water running
over ancient ferns, lichen and velvety moss).
Listen to some of the large number of bird life
as we make our way back to camp. After dinner
we’ll enjoy an interesting talk and film
by the National Park Rangers. |

Day 4

|
Today after we enjoy a hot breakfast, we’ll
discover the adventure trail within picturesque
Warrumbah Creek
Gorge. Then we’ll visit
the Aboriginal Cultural
Trail where we learn about indigenous
Australians and how they utilised our native
flora and fauna.After dinner, time and weather
permitting we may be able to go spotlighting
to see some of the nocturnal animals. |

Day 5
(B, L & D)
|
|
This morning we have to rise early
to pack up our camp site and depart this wonderful
National Park. We’ll start our journey
home via Injune
where we stop for morning tea and then onto
Wallumbilla
for lunch. We then continue via Warrego Highway
to Dalby
for Dinner.

We arrive back at school at approximately 9.00pm. |
